My Day at the Circus

My friend and I arrived an hour early. I'm glad we did. It was nuts with traffic. She had me drive. Getting there was good. The way home was frightening. I have cataracts and driving at night with headlights coming at me scared the h out of me.
Anyway, the circus. FABULOUS! FANTASTIC! AWESOME! I don't know if there are any other great words to use. We probably should have sat more center to get a better view of all three rings, but we did well where we were. The tigers were on the far end from us, so I had to zoom my camera a lot to get good pictures of them. There were two white tigers. I was surprised by how large those cats are. The white tigers are bigger than the other tigers.
It was superhero themed as you can see by one of the pictures that have all of them in the center ring. Spiderman was fantastic. My pictures of the acts in motion are all blurry. So, I was happy to get the ones I did. The clown acts were great!
The high wire act got scary in a couple of spots as one of the performers almost fell off the wire. There was a large air mattress that went the length of the wire underneath in case any of the artists did fall. I'm glad they didn't.
During intermission, they gave away two dirt bikes. My numbers didn't even come close. You got tickets when you bought the souvenir books. Those are awesome books. Other than all the ads in them, it's a coloring book, has mazes and word search puzzles. Well worth the money I paid for them. I got one for each of us.
Down in the far ring, if you look closely, you'll see a couple of ponies. Before, during intermission, and after it was over, they gave rides to the kids on the camels, elephants, and ponies. The camel picture was a surprise. I have others, but the way the two passed each other made it look like a two-headed camel. I couldn't have gotten that picture better if I tried.
It was 2.5 hours of pure entertainment. Totally enjoyable. As for the trip home, I didn't breathe properly until I got us settled in the parking space. She doesn't like driving at night, so she handed me the keys. It wasn't too bad leaving the Arena. However, it was full dark by the time we got home. I never realized how heavy traffic is on Saturday night. It had me wondering where everyone was going as I did my best to stay in my lane of traffic and see the line on the road. Thankfully, I did.
We're planning to do it again next year. The dates are in the books we received. There's also a rodeo in July we want to go to, but that's not in Green Bay, and I would need to map it to get us there if she has me drive for that one. I need to know where the city is, first. That always helps.
So, that was our day at the circus. Now, I'm going to get the receipt for the towing turned into my insurance agent and get laundry done.
How was your weekend? Thanks for reading.

Thank you. It was wonderful. It's been years since I was to one too. My last was Ringling Bros. Barnum and Baily that came to Green Bay several years ago. I went downtown to see the circus train stopped at the depot. It was awesome. The show was spectacular and you know why it's called The Greatest Show on Earth. There's just something about a circus that brings out the kid in you.

Awesome! I haven't been to a circus in a long time. Sounds fun! I can feel your thoughts on driving though. For me it's traffic. I tend to panic.

@just4him I remember that feeling at the last 3-ring circus I went to many years ago. There was so much going on that it was hard to focus on just one thing.

@just4him
I'm glad you were having a nice time! This is a real circus!!!!
As far as I can see, there were tigers, camels...What we had in Serbia is ... I don't even know which word to use really.
I will only say that the main attraction was - GOAT
I think that's the answer because I've never visited a circus here, but I will be happy to do it if I see a circus in another country

@LowRiderX True. Tigers would be a much better attraction.
