I'm really looking forward to this coming week. My husband and I are going to Myrtle Beach, SC to celebrate our wedding anniversary (we've been married all our lives.
) or maybe it just seems like it.
Anyway, while we're there he'll get to drive a NASCAR race car at the Myrtle Beach Speedway. He won't be in an actual race, but he'll drive several laps. He's so excited...he used to drive a race car at a local track years ago.
Our daughter and I will be there to cheer him on and take videos and photos. After that, he'll head back home and I'll go to our daughter's house to keep the nine year old grandson while she and her husband go to Las Vegas to celebrate their anniversary.
I can drive around Mt. Pleasant where they live, but heaven help me if I accidentally go across the Ravenel bridge into Charleston. Being such an old city, Charleston is full of very narrow one-way streets. Even my husband doesn't like to drive there and he'll drive most anywhere.
So, I'll find plenty to do. I'll take a couple of books, my cell phone of course, and maybe walk around the neighborhood. I told my grandson we'd hit up Walmart and McDonald's a time or two.
I really have to look out for the alligators while I'm there. I'm not kidding. They've been known to leave the little ponds all around there and wander into yards.
As soon as the day starts getting a little darker, we're gonna be in the house until he has to go to school the next morning!

Thanks! I see you're in Georgia. First of all, I sure pray you weren't affected by those horrible tornadoes recently. And I wondered if you've ever been to Charleston?

@1creekgirl Luckily we were not affected by the horrible tornadoes. It was more in the middle to south portion near the Alabama line where it hit. We live in the Northeast. No, I have never been to Charleston but it is on my bucket list.

Thanks, Nana. It really is a lovely place to visit and especially with some of our kids there, but I sure wish it were closer!

@Nana49 It's about seven hours from here, but we usually stop several times to break up the trip.

Inside sounds like a good, safe place to be!
Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby, and as well to your daughter and son-in-law.
There are times that I feel that we've been married forever too, but I wouldn't want it any other way. And I'm sure that you feel the same way.

@1creekgirl Although my husband and I were both in our late teens when we met, and we dated for a few years after that before marrying, I feel like in so many ways we have grown up together. We have certainly matured, but still all of these years later he still turns my head!
And I hope that he always does!

I sure do. We were just kids when we married, so we've actually grown up together! Wouldn't trade him for anyone. Glad to hear you've had a long marriage too.

@1creekgirl Did you swim with any alligators, or ride one like a cowboy?
