Will I have time to get dandelions?

Today Marco is coming to cut the grass. That poor garden of mine is so long that I could see some dandelions in blossom when I went to pet and fight with Luna yesterday. I know that dandelions are edible. So I went to google them and found out that you could make a delicious salad with them. I could harvest the leaves ( or rather make Marco do that) and see how it goes. If I don´t like it, I can throw it away. And I will not poison myself. Do you like to try new food? Have you eaten dandelions? Have you eaten any other flower?

The leaves are good before the flowers bloom, after they are very bitter. You can harvest the buds to make "fake capers". You can make dandelion honey with the flowers.

It seems then that these dandelions are too old now. Next time.

@marguicha If the flowers are in full bloom, the leaves are not good.

@amitkokiladitya Are they good? After all, we are always eating some flowers. Cauliflowers, capers and artichokes are some of them.

I've heard they're very good in salads. I've also heard they have a bitter taste. No, I haven't.

There are sevral greens that have bitter taste. I love arugula, but mixed with other greens.

I tried dandelion leaves, broadleaf, docs, nettles in soups and saute dishes before. Parslane in salads. Still discovering more.

Nasturtiums are nice, mixed with greens. And the arugula I plan in containers are really weeds.

I think you need to get the leaves while their still babies else they'll be bitter.

We have all kinds of plants growing in our garden and I am told they are edible but have not tried them yet. There is what is called vitamin plant I must experiment with them.

Most plants have lots of vitamins if they can be eaten raw.
