Or do you like to do it naturally? I would prefer to have a natural tan and love to sit in the sun, but I always wear sunscreen so getting a tan takes ages. Do you use fake tan? Which ones are any good? I've been using L'Oreal Nurtrisummer i think it's called, it's their new moisturiser with a little self tan in it so you get a gradual colour, after a few days it looks pretty good

I like fake tan if I could only put it on properly, without leaving patches and brown palms! lol

oh the horrible brown palms! lol when I used a full strength fake tan, I used to wear gloves, but now I am just using the moisturisers with a little bit of self tan I just make sure I scrub my hands well afterwards

No I don't use fake tan and although I always wear hat and sunscreen when outside, I still manage to get brown all the same. Actually I think it is the freckles joining hands that does it. LOL However, I think that fake tan is better than anything else for our climate here in Australia as we have one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.

hehe I usually go brown too even with the sunscreen, it just takes longer :) Fake tan can be good, but its hard to get it looking natural, and its almost impossible to do your hands lol

I don't need to, as I am naturally brown, but hubby had the whitest legs that he needed to brown, so he bought some tanning lotion with coconut cream, and it did the job nicely for him. He just wanted to take the 'glare' off his legs.

I usually tan naturally. I have tried one of those self tanning moisturisers, I think it was Palmolive, but i still found it a tad fake looking so i stopped using it. I know its bad for you, but i looove getting a tan, just perks you up!

I love doing it too :) I haven't used one for ages, but thought I'd give this a go as L'Oreal usually make good products

I don't use either. I am white, pasty white, but at least I'm not orange or red. Being outside for 30 minutes on a really hot day results in me getting a sunburn. I pretty much like to stay inside, but on days I do go out swimming, I have to wear waterproof spf 50 or more sunblock. There is no such thing as a tan for me.

I used light self tanner on my face before. I never tan naturally because it's unhealthy.

I prefer to fake it rather than go natural as its safer. To build up a gradual tan I use Johnsons holiday skin everytime I get out of the shower. For an instant tan I use Sally Hansen or St Tropez. St Tropez is very popular amongst celebrities- its best to get a professional to apply this one but it gives great results. Its probably best avoided by pale people as it gives quiete an intense result. Before you apply anything- use a body scrub concentrating on dryer areas such as knees, elbows and ankles. Then moisturise. If you apply it to your face make sure you use a much lighter layer than you do on the rest of your body. After you've applied the tan make sure you wash your hands or alternatively wear clear gloves during application. Wipe joints with a tissue to get rid of any excess. If you have any smudges use tan remover or nail varnish remover to even it out. If your paler i'd recommend Fantasy Tan- this an airbrush which is very effective. When sunbathing make sure you stick to high factors and re-apply every few hours. Wear a hat to protect your hair.
