Have you seen those "welcoming" animals that people have at the entrance to their driveways, or on the walkway leading to the front door? They're anything from concrete to marble. Some put lions to "guard" their homes. Me? I have squirrels. Real ones. They know the hum of my car's engine, because they come running when I get home. The directions they come from varies, too. Some jump onto the roof of my garage from tree branches hanging over the garage. Others jump across the yard from the trees in the yards nearby. Then there are a couple (such as Squirrelly Squirrel, pictured here) who come charging up the driveway for their peanuts. These are my people!

Me too. I have squirrels outside my door hopping from palm tree to palm tree. Here is a photo of my cutie.

I had one when I lived in Daytona Beach....named her "Lonnie" (didn't know she was a she until she showed up all pregnant one day). She'd take peanuts out of my hand!

@FourWalls don't know if this is the male or female but it does have a mate and they both hop upon the trees.

We have an abundance of squirrels here but we haven't turned them into pets. That would make it too easy for the cat to catch them.

true. some have lions, some have elephants. we had a cat who would meow nonstop as soon as he sees me at the gate until i reach the screen door. we had several at the time and the rest would just look up and maybe smell me.
