What is Workaway?

has anyone heard of this? This seems to be a way for tourists to travel cheaper and experience a country's culture. Like a host will post a job, then the person can work for the host in exchange for food and/or boarding. it sounds exciting and a bit scary though.

just heard of this. I am not so keen on the idea. What if the person you hired was actually involved in illegal operation.

the hosts should be screened then. The safe way would be to choose hosts that have many feedback already.

@florelway oh yeah, they could be a danger to the hosts. Some workaway hosts are in the Philippines too

@lady1993 not much problem with the hosts the people in the community know them, am more concerned with the person hired or the tourist

yeah since it is a new concept for some - I'e been doing some research and found out that this work exchange has been going on for many years already
