Going to Make Some Jerky....

in the air fryer!
I finally found a recipe that tastes awesome. It is pretty simple as well. It just uses some soy sauce, Worchesterire sauce, and some seasonings.
I may start using liquid aminos in the future instead of soy sauce because soy is not the best ingredient....but for now that is what I am using.
What is really great is I have been buying thinly sliced round steak and it is the perfect thin-ness for jerky.
Do you make your own jerky? If so, do you have a recipe you like to use every time?

It's a great thing to try to do homemade, I think. Not always cheaper than store bought, but for me it is healthier. That's great that he made his in the oven....it's great that you don't need a special thing to make it, just the oven works fine!

@MommyOfEli2013 Not even a matter of whether it is cheaper in this case. If it is better, that's what matters.

@porwest Well I was hoping it would be cheaper as well since jerky is so expensive, but it makes sense because meat is so expensive in general.

I have never made my own jerky, but I've always wanted to. I'm a huge fan of jerky, and I eat it all the time. My kids do too. My ex-wife's husband just bought a smoker, and he has been smoking all kinds of meat. He is going to make a big batch of jerky next weekend, so I can't wait to try it.

@MommyOfEli2013 I've seen jerky made by several different methods, and each produces its own style and taste. A buddy of mine has a dehumidifier that he uses to make his jerky, and my dad used to make it over a campfire.

I did too and never had a way till we got our air fryer. That's great that you all enjoy it! Never thought of using a smoker to make it! Hope it'll be great!

@moffittjc All I have known before was a dehydrator and the oven. I love to use my air fryer for it. That's great that there are other options as well! Never thought to make it over a campfire either!

That's always an option. I don't think I'd like that, so I leave that out.

The taste is good :) I should have stopped dehydrating them a bit sooner though, lol

You could dehydrate fruit and veggies too :) I could not imagine giving up meat! Not really any plans for St Patricks day for me. How about you?
