How long can you hold your breath under water? On February 28, 2016 Aleix Segura Vendell, during a live television broadcast, where he did what is known as a oxygen-assist and set the Guinness World Record. This is where he breaths pure oxygen for a time before beggining a extended float under water for 24 minutes and 3 seconds. This was 54 seconds longer than the previous world's record which Aleix also set.

For about two minutes but its not something I would suggest anyone to try if they have health challenges at all.
Its okay that he has trained himself but like others don“t see the need for such a thing and it always needs someone who is an expert to train you and always bit by bit.

Yes, important to train and build up gradually.

I think so too.
No one should really take up this kind of thing without some kind of training and doing it gradually.

I mean.. too each their own. I don't see the necessity in this. I remember trying to hold my breath as a game with friends, but that's the long and the short of it.

I haven't tried since I was a child. I can't remember how long.

I can swim just for fun and have never gone underwater. That sounds like a long time to hold one's breath.
