I couldn't resist a moment longer!

My husband and I have both been trying to lose a few pounds (why, why, WHY is it so hard to do???)
We're both down a few pounds, but a few more to go. (I need to lose about seven or eight.)
We've been pretty good about resisting sweets, although that week at our daughter's house was almost my undoing. I usually eat the whole time I'm there.
But only gained two pounds, so that wasn't so terribly bad.
After church instead of going out to eat like we usually do, we decided to eat something light, then go bring home a couple of pizzas later on.
Now for the confession. I made a chocolate cobbler just a few minutes ago.
It's cooling as I type.
If we can just limit ourselves to one small bowl full a day, maybe it won't show up so awfully on the weight scale.
Unfortunately, I'm not one of those "one small bowl full a day" kind of people.
With me, it's either all or nothing. No self control.
Oh well, maybe once we get this dessert out of the way, we can return to being "good."
Guess I'll call in the pizza order before I start on the chocolate cobbler.
See 'ya.
PS If you are like me in the No Will Power department, come on over and have some chocolate cobbler with us.

I'm with you in the no self-control department. My daughter made brownies yesterday and every time I hobble past the kitchen I'm tempted to drown my sorrows in a piece. Except I know it won't stop with one piece...once I start I have trouble stopping.

Me too. I can do better not having any sweets than to try to eat just one piece.

I love sweets so I can understand how tempting they can be

@1creekgirl It's a torture not to eat chocolate and the dessert, but I resist.

Thanks, I wish I had your determination to do all you do at the gym.

@1creekgirl It is a fun place and I need the workouts for my mental health just as much as I do for the physical benefits. There's a reason I drive 25 minutes each way there/back and pay $160/month to go.

I have been fat on and off all my life. I would go on diets and lose but then gain back. I came to Israel and joined Over Eaters Anonymous and gave up so stuff but did not lose a lot. I had to turn about 67 and lost the weight I wanted. I gave up things and can look at food and not be hungry. In the summer it is easy for me to lose weight and it carried into the winter and then summer and this winter I had to fight hard to keep the weight off but nice weather will come soon and I am not hungry. So now I exercise and keep some fat clothes to remind me of where I was what I did,. Keep at it and you will win out .

Thanks and I am proud of myself. It took me a very long time to get to where I am and I feel good about it and not hungry and can look at food and not want it.

You have to be doing something right if you are down a few pounds.
I think that a bit of increased exercise and activity coupled with smaller portions of healthy food, with a little sweet once a week is a great way to achieve your goal. And I'm just sure that you're doing that.

We had been going to the gym a couple of days a week, then my husband spent seven weeks rebuilding our garage and suffering with leg pain. I developed an inflamed nerve under my foot and could barely walk. So those are the excuses for not exercising. But hoping we can get back to the gym soon.
