Funerals and afterwards

My hubby wants to be cremated when the time comes and scattered in his favourite place which is the sea. If he goes first I don't want to do that but will as it is his choice. He says when your gone , your gone. I understand him not wanting to be buried but I would like to bury his ashes so family have somewhere to go to feel close to what is the last remaining part of him on earth. I know he wont be there but part of the connection to him in a physical sense will be. He goes to his parents grave every week and gets great comfort from it and I cant understand why he cant see the benefit to his family of having a marker on earth that he was here where they can go to think of him from time to time. What do you want to happen after you are gone. Can anyone see my point.
