For a baker, it is a nightmare if the cake was delivered broken or deformed. It is really devastating so I always makes sure that I am the one who deliver my cakes. In my fb group for homebaker like me, there is one baker who unfortunately had mishap to her cake. She was so devastated, felt sad about what happened and felt sorry to the celebrant so she decided to refund the payment. No baker wanted this kind of incident, hardwork was wasted. For me, I'm always the one who handled the delivery as much as possible since I already know how to handle cake properly during travel. In case it was picked up, I always make sure to instruct them how to handle it properly cause once they get it, I'm not liable what ever happened to the cake.

If the order is bulk I rent at tricycle while single order, I just commute which is cheaper. The cake is ube flavor.

@ardoy0731 how do you pack the cake so that it doesn't wobble while in the tricycle or jeepney? so the cake inside is ube, but the icing is what?

@hereandthere I handle it by myself to during travel to avoid wobbling. The icing is vanilla buttercream colored with brown food color.

That would be the worst, have a cake made for a special event and then having it arrive damaged or deformed.

None so far and I don't want it to happened. Just minor like some icing on the side of the box which is quite normal.

@ardoy0731 Yes, maybe even stamping it with a handle with care on the box would be a good idea.

I would imagine receiving a ruined cake would be a pretty big bummer! I am not a very good baker so I couldn’t say!

@ardoy0731 Good idea to bring the cake yourself so you know it is fine and will get there in one piece.
