Have you ever been caught out?
I have yet to be caught probably because I used to do it every time. My colleagues used to be on the look out for things especially if I was working on the 1st. . Somethings are very subtle but other things are quite obvious or rather they are obvious to me but not necessarily to others!
One year I put a notice up telling people I was going to organise a day trip to the Spaghetti fields of Italy. We would be leaving at 5 AM go to Heathrow airport where we would board a plane to Milan. A bus would take us deep into the Italian countryside where we will pick our own spaghetti which would then be prepared into a beautiful lunch. We will have time to buy some cheese spaghetti, Wine and hams from the region then head back to the airport for out return flight to London.
About 18 people signed up for the trip. I was beside myself inside with hysterical laughter as I saw my colleagues add their name to the list. I have to say they felt like lemons when all was revealed that it was a complete hoax.

I remember this prank, we talked about this with Barry (Asylum) a couple of years ago. I watched the video this morning, because the "harvesting" was supposed to take place here in Canton Ticino, the fields were said to be here in the south of Switzerland.

Yes Anna I think it was the BBC who originally played this prank many moons ago. But as I used to organise work trips to France etc they believed me. I was a complete prankster. I did not even have to wait for April fools day. I had to tone it down a bit in the last few years though because it would have been frowned upon someone so senior doing that sort of thing. Not that I stopped completely but the pranks became tame in comparison!

I was too well known for it. You would have only had to tell the tale and automatically my name appeared for some unknown reason! For example moving the staff lockers around and changing all the names. They could not understand why they could not get into their lockers! Someone had left the key in their locker so I filled it with everything I could get my hands on so when they opened it the whole lot came tumbling out! Gosh How i stayed alive I really don't know!

@garymarsh6
If they are used to your pranks did they sign up just for a joke on you too?

It's amazing what people will fall for. I'm a skeptic at the best of times but I DO appreciate a good prank.

@garymarsh6 The all-time best April Fool's prank ended up not being a prank at all:
I initially thought that the Canadian territory of Nunavut was a very elaborate practical joke. It became a territory on April 1st and the name sounds a lot like None-of-it. It didn't make the news in the USA (where I was living at the time) so when one of my nieces told me about it I couldn't find any maps verifying it was factual I decided it was probably a joke.
Turns out it wasn't.

You see how convincing I can be! There is a report today that a joke in Lagos, Nigeria was that people are ordering Pizza in London and having it delivered by British Airways. People were asking if there was an App for it!

OH trust me with my look of innocence I can charm the birds out of the trees. You would go grey if you knew some of the antics I have got up to in the past!

Well depending on the hybrid tree some were grown black and some green but most were neutral!
