my new friend

I have a new friend.
He's quite delightful. But very clingy. Sunday saw me just going about my lazy day, minding my own business, when he suddenly popped into my life. Hiya! he screamed. I'm your new friend! I hope you don't mind, but I need a place to crash for a few hours. Or days, who knows!? Don't mind me, I'll be quiet!
And he's been here ever since, an annoying ache in my head. A dull ache above my right eye. Mr Dull Ache. He wont go away. I've tried pestering him with paracetamol. I've hydrated him. I've lain cold hands upon him. I've fed him, read to him and danced with him. I've shared my glasses with him whilst at the cinema {I treated him to Pet Sematary last night} and my bed with him as we slept together.
He just won't leave, this unwelcome new friend.
My only option {because chopping off my head or gouging a hole in my forehead seem far too drastic} is to wait for boredom to set in. My existence is not exciting, and - eventually - he will decide to take flight and live in someone else's head.
I hope.

hope he takes a hint and leaves your head soon, never to be felt again

He's still around, but to a lesser degree now. I'm wondering if he's part of a group of nasty bugs. I hear there's some around. As long as he doesn't invite his other bug mates around for a party ...

Don't let him rent space in your head!

I think he's trying to claim squatters rights!

Thank you. Pet Sematary was good. I'm not sure I've ever seen the original film, and it's been a VERY long time since I read the book, so I had no expectations to disillusion!

I rarely get headaches, so when I do get one it really surprises me!

@poppylicious Some friends just don’t know when to leave. I do hope this one takes the hint soon.

He's definitely moved closer to the door, but the door is my eye and every time I blink or move my eyeball, he stabs me. Some friend, eh?

I will look at the nearby seawater and just watch the color and then make the wind touch my cheek then my head will be fine and the pain will leave little by little.

That sounds lovely. It wouldn't work for me; I am too far from the sea.
