The Philippines' Lupang Hinirang.

We have a strict law in the country, the National Anthem must be sung in a specific 4/4 marching rhythm beat. The song must be sung standing up, facing the flag, right hand on the heart, and must be finished in exactly a minute. The lyrics bespeak of the land and the people, courage, patriotism, and a call for martydom when the land is threatened. I write this now because a tyrant has allowed invaders to trample on our land. It is a prayer my fellow Filipinos realize that the time has come when we stand true to what we have been singing all our lives. I hope you did take the singing to heart, as I did mine. Translation in English is provided, with lyrics corresponding to the beat. Land of the morning Child of the sun returning With fervour burning thee do our souls adore Land dear and holy Cradle of noble heroes Never shall invaders trample thy sacred shore Even within thy skies and through thy clouds and over thy hills and sea Do we behold the radiance, feel the throb of glorious liberty Thy banner, dear to our hearts. it's sun and stars alight Oh never shall it's shining fields be dimmed by tyrant's might. Beautiful land of love, oh land of light In thine embrace it is rapture to lie But it is glory ever, when thou art wronged for us, thy sons, to suffer and die Here, have a glimpse of the Philippines with the Lupang Hinirang. See for your self what I have been fighting for.

Thank you, LindaOH. Once in my youth ,in our 1986 bloodless revolution against a dictator, I stood days and nights with millions of Filipinos, waiting for the worse to happen. The night air was filled with fear as soldiers rolled battle tanks, and we gave them sandwiches and roses, Come morning, the planes flew back and forth, we knew it could be our end, but the bombs never dropped., The pilots couldn't, One said later he couldn't push the button, for he saw a sea of people, and his family could be there. I am humbled now, for the legs are not as sturdy, and I couldn't join in the rallies. The 9th of April is our Day of Courage, and our youth will be standing in from of the Embassy of China, to force them ti cease raping our lands. Please keep a prayer for usl

@eileenleyva _During the EDSA revolution we live in the vicinity of Malacanang palace. I saw US phantom jets make low level passes to convince Marcos his rule have ended. They of course replace one puppet with another member from the ruling elite. It is an illusion to believe that the people in EDSA cause Marcos to leave.

It is sad that our government is not doing enough to be heard by everyone but instead tries to spread fear of war against a bigger opponent. It is spreading fear that we cannot fight them and be much better to let them trample our territorial waters. While our neighboring countries like Vietnam and Indonesia are really showing that they will protect their own territories.

That monster sowed fear in the hearts of the poor, deceived even the learned of the academe. Not once though was I taken by the macho machismo strategy. I stand with the youth who are fighting for the sovereign land. I stand with the patriotic and the brave who want to leave a legacy of beautiful Philippines to their grandchildren. We fight this, with blood, tears and life. China is big but it has its weak points., Their people have suffered much, too.

@eileenleyva I sincerely hope that our government would not show that we are a weak nation. This government is so brazen to show its support with the bully state.

@rsa101 We, the people has got to get our act together. The forked-tongue reigning god at our palace thinks he can further prolong the sufferance of our people. If you and I and all the God-fearing citizens stand for our rights, the serpent cannot do anything.

While I do not agree with pres. Duterte's allege human rights violation and attack on press freedom, he has a point about the military superiority of China compare to our's. It is also hypocritical to condemn China's intrusion into our territorial waters while nary a whimper when the US had military bases here which they use to invade other Asian neighbors (Vietnam). China today is surrounded by a ring of US military bases in the Pacific.

This used to be a mountain in Sta. Cruz, Zambales, one of the many dredged by China. The US bases were closed in the 1990's. It is 2019 now. China is wreaking havoc of our natural resources. Get your issues in proper perspective.,

@josie_ I know my history pretty well. The current concern is China's aggression. Read the papers.

@eileenleyva _Under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), the US is allowed to build US military facilities inside Phil.military bases. This came after the Visiting force agreement (VFA) allow US forces into the country for war games with their Philippine counterpart. I won't be surprise if these agreements will soon include PERMANENT US military bases using China's aggression as the excuse. China's long history have always been defensive against invading "Barbarians". It have also been a victim of western imperialism just like the Philippines (Spain and the US). Modern history is replete with US interference in the affairs of other countries in Latin America, the middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa We gain our independence from the US by giving up our patrimony rights through unequal treaties that gave US corporations parity in exploiting our natural resources. Read your history. As for the environmental destruction of the Zambales surroundings, Don't blame China but corrupt local politicians who made the sale of soil to Chinese companies possible.

That is true. My country , like I always say, is paradise on earth, thus, the Arabs, the Chinese, the Spaniards, the Americans, the Japanese exercised power to own us. China is at it again. Sigh. We are a beautiful brown race - like Disney's Moana. We love the sea and the ocean, and we sail from island to island. Our mountains and fields are our treasure, homes to various tribes of courage and nobility. Thank you, Kokil agarwwal,

It is sad that your president allows the big neighbor China to intimidate and bully Filipinos in the Spratleys. Somebody should remind him about dying in order to protect the homeland, as stated in the.Philippine National Anthem

Junbals, the shoal is now China's military base. China has dredged our mountains for black sand and other minerals. All these with the permission of one lunatic leader. Not my president. Betrayal is a capital offense, My people, however, are kinda slow. Sigh. Please whisper a prayer for us, neighbor down south,
