Poetry: Why am I being lied to?

Everywhere I go, people pretend to know.
They lie to me with straight faces,
and yet, what they are telling me is a lie.
People lie, or do they lie? I do not believe.
Silence is only a lie of God’s, to deceive.
People mouth off with half-truths in glee.
I flee away from these people, still free.
Love never lies, but we lie to it.
Let yourself give out love, and never lust.
Only then will heaven live in you, in its truths.
Why am I being lied to? Because I am a liar.
When I live fully from love, no lies will stick.
Truth lives as truth only when love lives as love.

Only a fool lies to himself, but a greater fool believes a fool's lies.

Thank you. I am glad you liked it. I was trying to add an image, but it wouldn't let me right now. Mylot must have a bug in it, or something.

@innertalks The image worked today. If we cannot be our real selves for God, we lie to him, to ourselves, and to anyone else that we meet in our lives too.
God planted a seed in us as us, that we need to grow into the plant that God expects it to do so, to bear fruit for him, for ourselves, and for all others too, in his world.

Thankyou. I agree with you there. The truth must always win out in the end. A lie just tries to cover over the truth, but the truth will always emerge again. Truth cannot be hidden, forever, or for too long.

Nice way to highlight the evil of lying! Since Satan lied to Adam and Eve, we are prone to lie and must watch ourselves. God hates lies.

Thanks Felix.
Yes, lying to others and to ourselves, and to God too, is one of the worst evils that can be committed by anyone.
Everything starts from a true heart, a base of honesty. Love, real love can only come forth from a truthful heart, not from a deceitful one.

@innertalks Some are so habituated with lying that they try their luck even with God!
They think God is just too loving and forgiving to close his eyes to such indiscretions.
And to think with social media everything has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
"Fake news" inundate and drown us. That leads me to:
“If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;!” siva

@Shiva49 Yes. fakeness provides an icing on the cake of love, made with untruth, not truth. This then detracts from the real love, that might still be hiding underneath, as real love does exist within all of us, deep enough down, but often covered over and buried under the lies, ego, greed, lust, and untruths.

Yes, if we do not watch ourselves too, we can slip a lie into our wording, without really thinking about it.

Lying and hypocrisy weigh us down and stymie our potential.
People lie mostly for material gains and to pretend who they are not.
When we tell the truth, we do not have to remember what we told! So, why carry useless baggage?
Yes, lie will not stick when we live by love and truth - siva

Good points there siva, well put.
The truth of love becomes the love of truth eventually in all who love, whereas the ones who only pay lip service to love, never speak real truth, because it is a false shadow of love they live from, not its real power.
Love's full sunlight, shining forth in their lives, lighting both themselves up, and the world, rather than creating more shadows of darkness, by their lying, and living from their own and other's pseudo versions of love and truth.

@Shiva49 Real love reaches out to all life, and is responsible for the creative process. Real love has a name, and it is God.

@innertalks Real love leads to embracing the whole creative process without borders.
Then our journey is purposeful, meaningful and leads to fulfillment.
We now get stymied by the pursuit of temporary material gains and goals and that means our potential is wasted. We overlook the very basic for progress - unity in diversity that is the hallmark of creation - siva

They lie to me with straight faces... A lot of people are like that... Now it is hard to tell the differences of a lie and the truth... We often have known it was a lie when the dagger of it already kisses our skin...

Yes, and after that, a lie will almost always draw some blood. Lies cause all of the trouble in the World.
