Just found out we are actually going to try and play Dungeons and Dragons again. A few friends and I have talked about trying to play again after a few years of not playing.
I played back in the 80's and then took quite a few years off and played again in the early 90's and then didn't play again till like 4 years ago and now we are going to try it again.
It's on of the few really nerdy things I do, it's fun and a lot of laughs. In the past we all sat around a table and hung out and played. now that we all live all over the country we haven't played but thanks to the internet we can all get on google hangouts and all talk together.
I'm not sure how well it will work over hangouts but we're going to give it a try and see how it goes. We have been talking about it for a while now and finally going to give it a try.
Have you ever played Dungeons and Dragons? Hopefully it will be as fun as I remember it.

I've been wanting to play for a long time but never had the opportunity for various reasons. I was supposed to join in with my partner's game but he kept changing his mind about letting me in! I did, eventually, get a small game going with my two sons. The youngest didn't really enjoy it, though, and my eldest went off to university!
I don't know how well it would work over hangouts but it is worth a try. I just wish I had enough friends who could get together for a game. The few friends I actually see in real life mostly happen to be those who share no interests.

Yes, sometimes it is hard to find a group locally, if you have a game store in your area you could check with them. Also if you want to try it online you can check out places like roll20.net or dndbeyond.com you might be able to find groups there.
We played last night on hangouts and it worked out pretty good, had some fun and quite a few laughs.

@Bensen32 There aren't any groups I can get to at the moment. We are started to get more board game cafes so I'm seeking them out. There aren't any quite close enough to me but there is one near to where my son lives, and there's one in my favourite holiday spot. I did try roll20 but never got on with it - I don't know if it was because I couldn't find a good group or because of my lack of technical ability to use the system!
There is a new café just opened up the road from me so I am thinking of asking if they would like to host a game group. I also have game nights myself when I get time. We often end up playing quiz games!
