Took a small break, and update.

I've been fine and not doing much more just yet although yesterday I went out with my three employees to do three jobs which took less than five hours altogether. I didn't bother finding work for today since snow and ice was forecast and since we've not had our April snow yet I figured we might just get it this time. But we mainly got just a dusting thus far. It's under forty so if it rains we could still get some freezing rain too but hopefully not. I'm hoping to find work for at least both Wed and Thurs next week as it may be back into the sixties and maybe some little jobs for the mornings that I work my other job later in the day. More customers are beginning to call to get on our list. I have a lot of work to get done before my surgery June fifth. I am hoping that my crew will get enough practice working together by then that they can do some jobs alone or with my husband supervising the first month after my surgery. After that first month I hope I can go with my crew I just can't drive or work. I had to get up before seven to drink contrast an hour before my CT scan. Once there they hooked me up with an IV setup for a second type of dye to go through my blood stream. The scanning machine looks like a large donut on its side. Once in the skinny bed type platform a large plastic (I think) pillow was put under my knees. There was a normal pillow for under my head. If I wore anything with metal it had to be removed so I wore sweat pants along with a turtle neck, sweatshirt and cardigan. The cardigan had a metal zipper so that came off and I wore my normal winter wear in the hopes I could keep it on since these rooms are normally extra cold but not this one. The dye that goes into the bloodstream causes warmth to spread throughout the body and makes many feel the need to pee, but that wasn't an issue for me. The scan lasted five minutes and three times a voice told me to take a deep breath and hold it. Then not long after I could breathe normally again. I think the bed I was on kept moving a bit further into the opening of the donut machine but since my eyes were closed I'm not quite sure. For those that missed my previous mention of the reason for this test I'm pretty sure I have a hernia somewhere near my liver. It may not need to be repaired unless it grows but I thought I should get it checked before starting therapy after my upcoming knee surgery. I was back home half an hour later. The snow seems to have stopped for now. In another hour I'll be heading to visit my mom for a bit and tonight I may help my husband fill out paperwork to file for disability benefits with the government. I got my tax money back and will be able to pay all my bills for the month. Then the rest of my pay will go toward my debt snowball. The smallest one I paid in full yesterday. It was also the most recent one from December when I bought my new computer. The next smallest one will be paying off the oven from Lowe's that we got in 2013. Otherwise, I plan on spending time here again. While you are reading this I may be double-checking my posts from the past few weeks to make sure I didn't miss any visits. I did save two notification pages to Evernote and will work on those too.

@amadeo Do you mean money back from taxes? Yes. It wasn't a lot but better than nothing.

I hope the CT scan went well. I've had a couple of those. Getting your tax refund is always nice. We had our April snow. Are you getting some today? I think I saw a snow pattern heading to Michigan.

Out snow began yesterday. Today we're back to blue skies and it's already forty. I'm glad you're car is almost ready for you again. I read the results but will wait to see, this time, what my Dr says about it.

I'm glad I got it also and that there's enough to save some while paying all the months bills early. I also used my paycheck and some of my social security check too. Now the goal is to stay ahead of the game which might be more possible going into the summer than the other direction.

You seem to have a good handle on your finances now, let's hope the hernia doesn't need surgery.

Or, that it's small enough to heal on it's own, or at least wait until I've healed from my knee surgery first.

I hope there is a positive outcome to your CT scan and you do not need surgery,.

I'm pretty sure no major organs are involved, but I don't know whether surgery would be warranted if it's the wall of the abdomen that is torn or what exactly. My main concern is that I can still have my knee replaced first before figuring out whether surgery is needed or not as I've already waited too long to have that surgery as it is.

I'm happy you did have the test, just in case you did wind up having a hernia. Hope no surgery is needed. Glad your finances are doing well, too.

I may have two hernias, but the second one has only bothered me about a handful of times over twenty years, so I'm sure it's not that bad. I've not heard back from my doctor yet even though I already have the test results, so I'm guessing it's still manageable. I need to make an appointment to get clearance for surgery in June, and will discuss it more with him then. They pointed out a few other things they saw. One I remembered what it was from after reading about it online and the other is a new thing and I'm hoping it's not a problem. Either way, I'm hopeful that I can proceed with my surgery before having to do something about the hernia.
