I was told at some point after rejoining myLot that if you add pictures to your discussions that you earn more money.
Then I heard that on myLot that some people had said that it was a waste of time that they calculated their earnings compairing their discussions without pictures to the discussions they earned from with pictures on them and found no difference in earnings.
Hmmmm
Do you put photos on all or some of your discussions? Just discussions that you start? Or one's you reply to also?

I have just returned to the site since I left in 2013. I am now adding photos to my discussions. I think it adds to the post, makes it more interesting and may even catch someone's eye if the topic doesn't quite do it. I do not normally add photos to replys.
And nice to meet you!

Back in the old days of mylot photos I believe did go towards earnings but I could be wrong it's hard to remember. They do not go towards our earnings now but I love photos so I love seeing the ones others post in their posts and I usually try adding photos to my posts as well.

I do try to add photo's, but on this laptop it's difficult to do when I am starting a discussion. The window that I type on when I have it attached to the keyboard is not large enough for me to hit the "Choose File" button. But when I go back and "edit" the screen is large enough for me to hit that button.
But if I use my iPhone I can put the picture on easier.

I've tried this before and I didn't see any difference from my earnings! The advantage of having pictures is to get attention from other myLotters, if you put a cute picture then assume that someone might attract, and visit your discussion. Maybe that's why others said that pictures give you increase because their interaction increased as well because of attractive pictures.

I like to put pictures in all my posts. I just like it; and I think that it makes it more interesting. Not in my replies.

Before 2013, pictures used to earn a little but everything changed when myLot reintroduced the earnings program in 2015. Currently, earnings are based only on the interactions your posts receive from others so, if an image encourages a few more people to respond to your discussion than otherwise would have done, then you might say that it has 'earned' something for you.
I do try to find an appropriate image for most of my discussions because I feel that, as they say, "A picture's worth a thousand words" and because I feel that it tends to make a discussion slightly more attractive and memorable. Occasionally, even, my discussion might be inspired by an image, though I make sure that the discussion isn't just a brief comment about the picture but has something to say in its own right.

I rarely include pictures in my discussions. Mainly because I don't want to waste time and deal with finding relevant pics online. I don't think pics are really necessary. However, I can agree that a pic can attract more people to a post and that can potentially maybe lead to more interaction and pennies in the bank. But it is not a guarantee. It's the discussion itself that determines that. Unless people just start replying on the picture...

I think any illustration is a positive and attracts attention.

I think I've only ever put a picture on one of my posts. I don't think it had any more traffic to it than any others. I know a lot of other sites will encourage the use of pictures because they tend to attract more views. I'm not sure that's the case here.
I've never added a picture in comments. I've put one here just for fun as my first comment image. It's me abseiling down a building last year!

I add photo's just because I love taking photos and sharing them and I love sharing Bible verses as a picture too. =)
