I am an Indian and would like to say that it is a multicultural place with as many dialects/languages as much are the provinces in the nation. Besides, not every place surrounds variety of people rather it is because I stay in a cosmo city that attracts talents and workforce from almost every corner.
The noticeable part is people from specific region are known to be proficient in their specific task like north east indians are absorbed in hospitality , eateries and restaurant staffs while a renowned state in North India Uttar Pradesh has that flock of workers seem handy in constructions of building and roads. Majority of the migrants from Rajasthan belong to marwari community sticking to business and trades in electricals, garments and hotels. It must not be surprising to notice that mass of bakery shops in Bangalore is owned by Kerala people speaking Malyalam.
Unless one breathes in an environment with diversity , it is pretty hard to know of other`s culture , lifestyle, language and their food. I feel personally that exploring such melange is very exciting , do you live in a place with that enormous diversity???

@ShifaLk Delhi is the capital so it has diversity . For Chandigarh I was not that sure but it has all that fame of the most urban and planned identity, maybe this is why Chandigarh also has those signs of diversity because of some ventures.
