The title describes our wake up phone call this morning. My husband had already gotten a spam phone call and he was ticked for being woken up again. I told him not to call them back that it was a spam phone call.
I checked our account online and everything looked fine. I also sent a message to them and they asked that we make a phone call to them. I called the bank and she checked our account and everything was indeed okay.
I am thankful that our credit union requires you to call and verify your identity before giving out information and will not discuss the matter online.
I had fraud on my debit card several years ago and this call was different from the one I got previously. It was not from Mastercard. It was not from my bank. This was a scammer that had my husband's complete name. The last four digits of account did not match up.
This was a very believable phone call that he got and I know many people would call back and in verifying info give the scammers all their banking information. This is especially sad knowing senior citizens would be major targets.
Have you ever had to deal with credit or debit card fraud? How did it turn out?

Yes, but it was taken care of promptly, for which I am very grateful.

Yes, but it was cleared up quite quickly. If you call them back you could also be calling at some ridiculous amount per minute which is another scam.
