I think now and then how I would love to be on a deserted island all alone for just a little while. Well, this morning when the idea came up in my mind I thought about what it would take for me to be able to live there comfortably. There are so many things I would need that it would take a pretty big boat to get them there. I first and foremost would have to have electricity. That alone would make my island no longer deserted. I would have to have my computer, internet, air conditioner, furniture, a house to live in, the list goes on and on. I am a creature of comfort. I actually need some things to make my life comfortable, more things than I realized. If you were stranded on a deserted island what would you need to be comfortable?

That sounds good. You would need people to run your mall and movie theater.

@HazySue I would have robots running them..

Most important things I'd need are water and food then shade from the heat of the sun. But I honestly wouldn't want to be on a deserted island, that thought has never occurred to me

It entered my mind because I have very little time by myself. People think they need to be around just in case I get sick or whatever.

I'd go nuts if there were people around all the time @HazySue I'm used to being alone and I really don't have much use for people.

@rebelann I am the same way. Sometimes I pretend I am asleep just so I can be by myself.

If I had access to the Internet, I'd be good.

@HazySue Seeing it is an island, the sea breezes should be enough to keep you cooled off, but who knows. I'd make an air-conditioned home - no walls so the breeze could come on through.

That is a definite must have. It is at the top of my list, along with air conditioning.

When thinking about this, I realized that there is a lot more that I would want to take than I thought there would be. We need things that we do not always think about. I could live without a computer or the internet as long as I had books to read and paper to write on.

That is what happened to me. It made me realize there are too many things I am not willing to do without.

I dont like gadgets on an island. The primary concern would be a source of clean drinking water. I would bring a lot of food, i would need a fridge, telephone somehow and water

You have to have electricity for those things. I don't think you would be able to manage electricity on a remote island. It's one of the things that made me realized I am better off here.

This reminds me of...I have been homeless before, lived in a tent in the middle of winter and lived in a motel room with our 5 children and 2 pets. Neither were comfortable and the thought of having to go through it again would be really hard to bear. Although, there were MANY blessings that came out of it too. We saw many people saved by Jesus while going through our trials! =) So, yes I would want all of the things we sometimes take for granted.

I have been very fortunate in that I have only lived in a hotel with my girls for two months during a hard time. Something good came from your stay from mine came the determination to never have to do so again.

That is a great idea. You have to have entertainment.
