Notes On Cody Jinks' "David"

One of my favorite songs lately is "David" by a man named Cody Jinks.
I've listened to it countless times since I found it a while back.
I've always been a fan of music that addresses serious issues in a straight up no frills way, and that describes "David" exactly.
It's a song that will pull at your soul, it's generally/mostly well written, poetic, but tragic.

Interesting but not sure understood it. We have a lot of man with the name David here. It is a popular Jewish name.
