Wool House...

Wool House... That's the name of this very popular shop here in my native. And as the name suggests it is a paradise for people who would love to buy wool or varieties of thread for crochet.
This shop is quite old and is a landmark in itself. Started decades back, they only dealt with wool, thread, knitting and crochet needles. Slowly they started to keep accessories like fancy buttons, bows and ribbons that could compliment your knitting or crochet work. And with passing time they have extended themselves to fancy woolen wears and slowly into all fashion wears.
But still the shop holds its popularity for knitting and crochet lovers.
And it is a must visit for me each time I come here for vacation.
And I shop a lot. For my daughters who love knitting, crochet and weaving and also for my students, I buy a whole year supply.
So today I finished this shopping of wool and I bought around 10 kilograms of wool in all bright colors and combinations that I could imagine.
Buying well made balls can be a costly affair. So I bought it as bundles. They come lot more cheap. We can make balls on our own.
So you see I have already finished making a few balls and lot more are yet to be done. The picture shows some of them that I purchased. Aren't they bright??
So once we are back, we have enough stock to last for a year or more..
My daughters and my students will have their fingers busy making something worth. Something that we can sell at Christmas Fair and Shankranti fest to raise up funds for the NGO I volunteer for.
My daughters are already bubbling with ideas of wool craft..
That's what kept me busy today since evening to midnight. It is 12 PM and I am done rolling the last ball for the day. Rest will be done tomorrow post lunch..
What kept you busy today? Or what is keeping you busy??

@LadyDuck Good that you got the rest. Not everyone can be good at knitting. It needs skill as well as patience and creativity.

@arunima25 That is one area I am a zero be it stitching, knitting, crochet the works. Before I got engaged my mother forced me to attend some stitching classes (lol) My husband eagerly bought me a machine only to be told I hate stitching. He learnt and used it occasionally (lol)

Looks quite exciting. My paternal grandmother was an expert at knitting sweaters and woolen caps. In fact, my father still uses one of the hand knit sweaters and I still have a cap- which is so warm, I could use it even in sub zero temperatures.
My mother too used to do hand knitting, and I also once tried my hands on knitting. But now generally people do hand knitting lesser at homes.

Hand made ones are really special. I have a few done by my mom and grandmother. I wore a few of those as a baby and kid. My mom kept them so well that they were passed on to my children and now I have given it to my brothers children.

@arunima25 I still have a lot of wool in home, and I hope that I will be able to use it one day. The last thing I knitted was a blanket, but that was a couple of years ago.
We spent the weekend with a friend. He lives in another city, we visited him and spent the night in his city. We had a very nice time together.

You might remember it when you get knitting needles in your hand.
