Surprise in Nest

A few days ago I wrote about finding a Robin's nest in my backyard. But with my knees, I cannot climb the ladder to see what is in the nest (eggs or babies). I have been watching from a distance and have figured out the Robin is feeding the baby or babies. The nest is about ten feet from the ground in a pine tree. I am only about five feet tall, so all I could do is take the camera out and try getting a photo. Of course the Momma Robin was nearby talking very loudly to me and to her babies. It can often be a warning sign for both of us. Stranger danger is what she was saying! I snapped this photo, the best I could do. If you look closely, on the right side of the photo, you can see a little beak. So there is at least one baby. Now I will keep my distance. It is hard but I have to for their sake. I don't want the Momma to abandon the nest. Such excitement to hear the babies. I am convinced there is more than one. Stay tuned, hopefully I can have updates. They may fly away without me knowing. Anything exciting happening with you guys? Weekend plans?

I think I do see the little beak ! Oh it's so tempting to take a peek I'm sure . . . how can anyone resist the cuteness of it all . . . I hope you get to see them before they fly away! It has been a rough week . . . just want to truly rest this weekend.

@CarolDM We have a neighbor whose kitchen is up a little higher and in the perfect area to see the side of our garage. Apparently a hummingbird made a nest in our Christmas lights strung around the roof - and the neighbor was able to see it at a good level with binoculars (we sure didn't have the view from down below).

Well I do too but you have to be right there camera ready for that moment. You never know when it will happen. I have done that with the bluebirds but they haven't nested this year.

It's fun to have a baby bird's nest nearby! You'll probably be able to see little fuzzy heads popping up soon. I plan to hit some yard sales Saturday morning. Then I'll spend much of the weekend finishing a story that I'll submit to be published. The deadline is Monday night.

It i exciting indeed to see a nest up the tree in front of your house. When we were kids, we used to see nests in our orchard.

I love your excitement about the babies, it comes through in your writing of this post. As for exciting things happening with me, not much yet. My son will however be off from school til Tuesday, and time w/him and Courtney is always exciting (even though Eli gets a little crazy.)
