Late Life Babies

Lately celebrities have glamorized and started a popular culture on having babies at ages 49 and 50. Whereas it is 'possible' to give birth at that age, it is also stupid.
Gestational Diabetes, hypertension, Cesareans, miscarriages, preclampsia, low birth weight, premature birth and fetal mortality doubles are just some of the problems; not to mention taking care of a baby at an older age when the mothers health can be declining.
Even though the current life span of a female is 83 years old; anything can happen to cause her death. I think the biggest thing that women should consider is this:
If you have a child in your 20's; and you live to be 83; your child has approximately 50 years to spend with you. While if you have them in your late 40's or early 50's, they are burying you at a very young age.
I realize that a person can die at any age for a multitude of reasons, but waiting til late age to have a child is stupid. Just saying.

I was 30 when my son was born and wish that I had him sooner.

@nanette64 I had a hard time with conceiving. We tried for several years before I finally got pregnant.

For me anyone who can still bear a child at any age should be just fine as long as they will love and nourish the child. This is coming from a woman who’s been wanting to have a child but still not successful at getting pregnant. Just saying.

For those who cannot have one, there are thousands of children waiting for adoption. What about them? We are no longer Eve to populate the planet. At 7.7 BILLION already and too many that sit in Adoption Agencies until they turn 18 and are thrown out; if I was 50 and still wanted a child, you can bet I would adopt one and give them love and nourishment @weevee18 .

@nanette64 Adoption is an option too, I agree on that. Still for me as long as the parents will love and nourish their child it should be fine. People always have a choice.

@nanette64 A 18 years old knows nothing, I have the feeling that in our day even those in their 30s do not know a lot. What would they do should they have parents who are 50 years older. Their financial life and work start and they must take care of parents who are already the age of grandparents (even great grand parents), this is ridiculous. Not to mention that the life expectancy is reversing, we live a little less now than the previous generation.
I hope you had a great day.

My Mom got stuck with 6 of us because Dad wanted a football team @amadeo . What he got was a girls socker team instead. When he told her he wanted #7, she told him to go to hell since she would have been 48 at the time. I only had 2 and lost my son; so I understand.

Some celebrities here succeeded by getting surrogate mothers. Their babies are carried and delivered by another woman.

And of course because they're rich; guess who raises the kid? The Nanny or Babysitter @florelway .
