So, I am not the only one who uses the microwave in our household and having been away for the Easter holidays I was unaware that there was a problem.
However....apparently it had been " making noises " , for a few weeks.
Well, last night someone tried to heat something up and …
flash, bang, wallop ….
it died !!!
So, we have just been over to the store to get a new one.
We chose the one we wanted quite quickly ...but, oh the queues …. I didn't realise that it would be so busy on a Sunday !
The arranged for a nice young man to carry it to the car for us....yay !
We just have to put the old one out for the scrap man and then install the new one.

I am chuckling at the idea of a fruitful microwave!
The only fruit I have ever tried microwaving was a grape cut nearly in half with only a piece of skin joining the two halves. With the halves placed face downwards on a plate and the microwave turned on for 10 seconds, the effect is startling (and quite safe).

@owlwings I shall try this later. If my face blows off, I shall blame you!

@Poppylicious Quite an experiment!
Researchers combined thermal imaging with computer simulations to explain the physics of how microwaving grapes generates plasma.

Yes, microwaves are one of those things that we don't realize how much we use it, until it is gone!
