Bluebirds Have Returned

For the last several weeks I have been cleaning out the bluebird house. Three to four times day, I would clean out a ratbird nest. The ratbirds (sparrows) have been trying to nest and have been chasing off the bluebirds. I have written about this, as many of you know.
Yesterday I noticed the ratbirds not visiting the house as much. This gave me hope for the bluebirds. I was out in the garden just now, getting ready to plant the new butterfly bush. And a male bluebird appeared on the box. Then the female came as well. Excited!!
I came back inside for now. The bush can be planted later. I have waited a month for the bluebirds. So fingers crossed this will be the day they start their first nest of 2019. These are my bluebirds of happiness.

Blue birds are beautiful. I actually don't mind your ratbird, either lol

Oh that is so exciting! I wish we had bluebirds here, they are so pretty! I love the finches and mourning doves, even the greckles, but I wish we had more colors! Dang evolution! haha

@CarolDM Well, that would be in North Arizona. I am in central so we mostly have city birds haha

Arizona has all three species of bluebirds. But you have to put up a house for them.

Lucky you get to see their activity. There are tons of birds in our garden and surely they must be building nests here and there but somehow I never get to see them

Hope your bluebirds can finally make their nest without interference from those pesky sparrows. Last year we had a little bluebird nest in our front bush.
