Stressful Superstitions

I got the idea for today's post when I looked at my earnings here on myLot. Part of the total has three 6's in a row: 666.
I thought of my acquaintance who has a fear of that number. For example, if she buys something, and the total comes to $106.66, she will add an item to her purchase or take something away. She won't leave the store if the receipt ends in the number 666.
Some of you might know that the Bible says "the mark of the beast" is a number, which is 666. It is found in Revelation 13:18.
I respect the lady I mentioned, and her beliefs, but I really don't think she should live in fear when she's just doing normal daily things.
Thesaurus.com lists some synonyms for superstition- irrationality, notion, false belief. What are your thoughts about superstitions? Do you have any that worry you sometimes?

Thank you @Hate2Iron.
It would be interesting to find out how that started.
I have a couple of irrational fears that started in childhood.

One day I checked my earnings and the amount was $6.6666! I am not very superstitious, but it was still strange to see that number. My grandmother was very superstitious. One time she insisted on eating alone in the kitchen, because she wanted to avoid a table with 13 people. Without her there were only 12 people. She told me about many superstitious, but I don't really believe in them.

Thanks @Porcospino. I'm not superstitious either.
It must be rare for all the numbers to be the same in our earnings!
There are so many "bad luck" legends that have passed on through generations.

I agree that worrying is not good for anyone @amadeo. But when a person gets a fear stuck in their mind, it's not so easy to stop dwelling on it.
