Have You Ever Wanted To Commit Suicide?

I know this subject is Taboo for many, and a touchy subject for others. Maybe due to religious beliefs, or you have lost one to suicide... but for those who suffer from depression the reality is real. Especially when you are one who has suffered some type of Abuse and always feel like you're the one to blame. Personally I have been there. Lucky for me it has been 21 yrs ago since it was ever at it's worst to where I dreamed of it, and had to get a lot of help for depression and counseling for depression. It's been a lot longer than that when I actually imagined myself walking out in front of a truck and ending my life that way. I even spent some time in a hospital dealing with depression, etc. It is not the Best memories of my life but some of what has gotten me to be who I am today. For me my biggest help was God healing me of severe depression 6 weeks before I met my husband. I feel that it was what I needed to help make this some of the Best almost 21 yrs of my life. Yes I still deal with some depression at times, and feelings of hopelessness for a day or so, but nothing like before. Plus I know there is always Prayer and people I can call or talk with the days things seem a little worse. What has helped you overcome this if you have faced this before? ~~TINA~~

It never occurred to me. But am glad and you are right, God Jah is our great therapy. Life is precious and we dont own it, thus, we have no right to take it.

Si true... Unfortunately, there are many out there that never will come to that reality, and just hope someone can reach them before it it is too late.

Not seriously, I mean I had very bad times when I asked myself where was the purpose to go on, but I never seriously thought to end my life.

I don't suffer from depression as a constant phase in my life, however I have felt depressed before and yes there are some random and quick thoughts of ending my life, but it was so quick that I don't even remember the way I would have thought how to end up my life. Though it does not make me feel proud to confess it here in mylot, it makes me feel better that I said it. I love my life and I will never end it up that way. I will always find God to lead me through darkness.

Yes, for many it has been just a quick fleeting thought, and it is Good that you have realized this.

@KrauseHome Yeah. But one has to be wise enough to realize when we're going into depression again. In my opinion it isn't like we battle it and it ends up forever. It is a day to day battle.

I have never felt it but now I have a son who’s really goin through this. But he has not come to the point of committing it. Luckily he still trusted us that he conveyed his feelings about it and we asked for help. For now he is ok but we closely monitor him still.

Admitting it and asking for help is a Very important step. One that will go a long way if you continue to keep asking believing and pushing yourself until you are out of it. That is one of the main things that continues to help me when I'm struggling especially in my darkest hrs.

@KrauseHome I guesd we were lucky to spotting it before he did. His openness to us help us realize that. And I guess you’re parents instinct just kicked in.

@rsa101 That is good as so many times it's the parents that seem to want to hide it and not admit their is anything wrong with their child. Wishing you all the Best and keeping your son in Prayer

My faith in the Lord has helped me to not want to do anything. There have been moments and then I have quickly even yelled at myself. I do not have bouts of depression just a bit of melancholy sadness comes over me and then I do my very best to shake it off. Glad to hear you are doing so much better.

For me a lot of it has just been getting closer to God, and learning to trust him more. Also having an awesome husband has been a Blessing as well.

@KrauseHome I am sorry you have such troubles. I admire people like yourself who 'keep on keeping on' as my mother used to say.

Yes when I was in an abusive marriage, I was not depressed, I just was tired of the beatings and seen no way out. BUT God helped me, he heard my prayers.

Self injury is just as Bad and can lead to much more eventually if you are not getting help. I am lucky to be married now and that has been a Big help for me. Also try and find things you enjoy that can help distract you
