Signed Eli Up For Kindergarten!

Today has been a long, and eventful day! After Eli got out of pre-school...we took him over to the elementary school to get registered for Kindergarten. I don't know why they do it so early (since the rest of the school does it in August).
He had to take a little test to see how much he knows so they know what class to put him in. He did really well according to the lady...he got 42 things right out of 80....but they say they are really happy when a 5 year old gets that score.
We marked that we want him in the afternoon class, so hopefully he'll get in that one.
School starts August 21st....so he is going to enjoy his 3 full months off!
Anyways, so how was everyone else's day?

That is great! My youngest starts after next year with Kindergarten he is excited that he will go to school with his big brother and sister. We are preparing for our oldest IEP meeting.

@MommyOfEli2013 an IEP is kids that have some for of special needs and need assistance so you meet with the teacher and you discuss what goals or what you want your child to work out the fallowing year. It’s done early and some kids get retested for their disabilities every 3 years. Since my daughter has dyslexia she has an IEP in places. I’ve done many in my life about myself this is the second I have to do for my daughter.
Fallowing year will be hard when he goes because the littlest has a lot of food allergies so that makes glass parties and lunch difficult.

@ShyBear88 Oh okay, well thank you for explaining...that's good that they have that to help out kids who need it.
Oh yeah...I get that it will be hard with his food allergies...Hopefully it won't be too bad though!

Congrats on him entering elementary school. I hope he likes it. So does that mean that summer vacation is cut short because school starts August 21st?

No, that's normal time for school to start here after summer break. Thank you...hope he'll do well in Kindergarten. Last year before he goes to school full time.

@Hannihar For pre-school and Kindergarten we can request morning or afternoon...doesn't mean we'll get our choice.
And he got out the middle of May. The rest of the schools finished May 30th I think.

Three months of summer break, wow.
That does seem like a good score for a 5 year old. Way to go Eli.

That's a perk of pre-school I guess, the getting out earlier than the rest (also the longer Christmas break lol).
