Color Blind

"Copper" Earings Display

It appears that I like the color of rose gold jewelry. Recently while browsing at a local Dillard's store with the GF, I saw some "copper" colored jewelry and mentioned as to how I liked the "copper tone" of the earings. The first thing she says to me is that its color is actually Rose Gold. (I forgot she used to work behind a jewelry counter at one time.) To me it reminds me of copper. Depending as to how much light hits it, it either looks like a shiny new penny with a hue of pink or a slightly used and dirtied penny turning a bit yellow. I guess men see color in less shades than women do. Men can see, for example, blue in either standard form, light, or dark. Women can see glittery, shimmer, pastel, turquoise, aqua, midnight, and i'm sure a thousand more. Now whenever i'm asked as to what the color looks like to me, I respond with- "normal?...dark?...light?..." I'm colorfully confused. Picture- Taken/Owned by me, Plethos

@Plethos I love all metals, and stones. But I understand, some just do not like the look or feel. Yes you were missed!

I think most men see as many colors as most women, we just don't have any reason to care about subtle differences in shades. I understand though why the differences matter to people in some industries though. For me they never have mattered, but I'm color blind so color isn't going to matter so much to me. lol

Yep, men see fewer colors and usually have fewer descriptions of the colors they do see. We love you guys anyway.

well thanks for loving us despite our failure to see different shades of colour. a while ago, i thought women only saw shades of grey,

I prefer silver but they call it rose gold because it has a pink tinge. That is how you can tell it from regular gold.

I like how copper shows up in different shades in the sunlight. I do agree that women tend to see more shades than men.

i like how copper gets a cool hue to it after its been exposed to the weather elements for a long time. theres a wind charm outside the house thats been hanging for almost 10 years, its got some cool coloring going on.

hmm, i beg to differ. judging from your avi, i think some rose gold earings of a medium size would look great on you.

@Plethos oh, thank haha. i tend to wear more silver than gold, i think it goes better with my complexion. maybe if i find a lighter rose gold, that could work? I'll give it a shot haha

@Plethos I have always wonder if we all see the same things. I don´t much believe in complete objectivity.

Have you seen paint colour charts recently? There must be a hundred different shades of all the primary colours for starters.

I think, yes! Men do see less shades compare to women. But that's because women are more particular and descriptive and they have a Habit of noticing very minute things as well...

men just need to know three basic colors- dark, light, and military.
