International Day of Fighting Against Stupidity 1889 - The Eiffel Tower officially opened to the public. 1915 - Babe Ruth hit his first major league home run. (pictured above) 1961 - George Clooney was born. He is an American actor, director, producer, screenwriter, businessman, political and economic activist. He has won 3 Golden Globes, 2 Academy Awards and an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award. He had his acting debut on TV in E. R. as Dr. Doug Ross from 1994-1999 and won 2 Primetime Emmy Award nominations. In 1996 he started working in films. His big break came in 2001 with Ocean's Eleven. From 2008 to the present he has served as one of the United Nations Messengers of Peace. 2009 - Time Magazine, Time 100 - One of the Most Influential People in the World.
