I Went To Bed Without a Splinter and Woke Up WITH One!

I was having such a great night. I don't think I woke up even once... until I rolled over and felt this little jab of pain in my toe. It wasn't there the night before, but every time the sheets touched the toe, there was the pain again. So much for getting any more sleep. The first thing that I thought of was... what if a spider had bitten me?? I tend to over-react... something I'm working on and apparently haven't mastered!!
I took a hot shower, rubbed a bit of Neosporin on the area in question and gingerly pulled on a pair of socks to cushion the area. Hey... I was ready to try anything! Here's hoping that my day isn't completely ruined... I have big plans today and they don't have anything to do with a splinter... or whatever it is!!! I'm sending out some more hugs... hey, they certainly can't hurt!

Thank you... I was at a loss but no one seems to be able to find it. As long as nothing rubs against it, I'm fine, but it's still in there!! It's been a week now. I guess it's so tiny it's going to have to find it's own way out!!

@Hate2Iron Oh yuk. My poor nephew had something similar when he was very small and turns out he'd trodden on a needle and it had embedded itself. It only hurt in certain positions too.

@Hate2Iron Surely it is annoying and painful. Do you have wooden floor? May be you got the splinter just before going to sleep.

I have no idea... It wasn't there and then it was!! I did go for a long walk on the 5th... I wonder it it somehow worked its way into my shoe while hiking?? Never thought of that??
