My Lawn Is Being Done

While I am sitting here comfortably and working on my computer, my neighbor is mowing the front and back yard lawn. I would much rather do it myself, but unfortunately it has become too difficult for me now. I totally miss doing it though. How about you? Are you still able to take care of the gardening at your house? I hope so, if you enjoy it.

Actually I have a feeling that it's one thing that keeps me strong, I'm so sorry that for some reason you can't do something that you love to do.

@louievill , I loved doing this kind of work before and would love to be able to still do it. Unfortunately, things have changed.

I'm sorry you can no longer do it. I know how much you love gardening and hope you can still do some of that.

I do all my gardening (though it's getting harder and harder due to a bad hip), but my son always mows my lawn. I could do it myself, but it's something he has always done, and I'm grateful to him.

Since I live in an apartment, our maintenance man takes care of gardening, law mowing, leaf-blowing, etc. I don't have to do a thing. That's nice of him.

@KristenH , What is a "pet deposit fee"?

@marlina Not too sure about that. Just rent, pet deposit fee, and water. Nothing about landscaping maintenance fees in my lease.

Our lawn needs to be mowed right now. We are expecting rain for the next few days so I doubt that it will get done until the rain clears up. We avoid mowing wet grass.

Impossible to mow a wet lawn with an electric lawnmower.

I'm sorry you can't do it but glad you have someone that's willing to. We are buying a ride on mower soon so my husband can take care of the lawn. Paying someone to do it is too expensive.

No mowing for me. I live in a community where the lawn is done and I'm happy to watch them ride around and get the grass done,

@marlina I know how much you love being outside and working in the garden and mowing the grass. Can you still work in the garden?

I've not done my own mowing since my knees began getting worse and possibly since I went full time. But I have employees that like extra cash and they are much less expensive than a lawn service. Maybe one day I can do it between times when it's growing faster. I've always done my own weeding but had to quit this year. I'll do that again but will get help for putting down the weed barrier and maybe for planting bulbs too.

@marlina having it done was the greatest thing but I am having trouble moving it about since surgery. I think I know why but it may take a few days for me to get back to where I was before or work the other leg.

I enjoy gardening the planting flowers and watching them come each year. The lawn mowing not so much. I try not to do the front and back lawns on the same day. But I must admit, the finished product gives me a feeling of accomplishment
