Dawdling in Doha, Qatar

We’re in Doha in Qatar. We had a 12-hour flight from Perth. I watched three films and managed to catch some sleep as well. I had bought a neck support pillow before leaving and found it helped with sleeping.
The three films I watched were ‘Green Book’, ‘Women in Black’ and ‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I enjoyed them all. ‘Women in Black’ is an Australian film set in the 1950s so resonated with my years growing up as I was born in 1946. The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a follow-on to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and both were very entertaining. I saw the latter some years ago.
Dev Patel is so funny in this – never knows when to stop talking, is highly ambitious but has a heart of gold. He was also in Lion and was equally admirable as the young Indian trying to find his family after being adopted as a young boy to a family in Tasmania.
It is Ramadan here. At 7pm, we are going on a bus tour of the city. It lasts four hours. We fly out at 3pm tomorrow for Paris. We've been for a short walk and I took the accompanying photo. It is quite warm outside so we didn’t go too far.
The photo is of one of the magnificent buildings we saw on the way to our hotel. There is some great architecture here. Hopefully, we’ll get more photos this evening.
Edit: Sorry but I missed out the first paragraph. I've added it now.

@JudyEv The weather is sweet (for France
), but May is often a rainy month, and it seems to be the case again. Be prepared for a few showers. I am taking a few days of holidays to Spain and Portugal next week, I hope that it will not rain too much because it may be worse than here when it rains.

I'm sure there is some amazing architecture there, given that they have so much money to work with. If I recall correctly, Qatar is a very wealthy country like Dubai. All that oil money flowing in. No doubt air conditioning is a necessity there, not just a luxury.

@JudyEv As Dubai's popularity as a tourist destination continues to grow, it is only natural that people will start finding out about Qatar. While you were there, did you have to wear a headscarf, or are they more relaxed in their Muslim requirements?

@moffittjc We had no issues at all. Those at the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. We were only there a very short time so it was a bit difficult to judge really. But they are keen to make a success of the 2020 World Cup so it did seem they were out to make a good impression and to spread the word about their country.

They are building 8 stadiums ready for the soccer World Cups in 2022 (I think). Three are ready and and the rest on their way. They know Qatar is not well known so they are doing what they can to make it better known and to encourage people to visit.

Wow, I hope everything is air conditioned. I am sure it is. I want to see Green Book. I think it would be amazing to visit Dubai some day. I doubt I will get there however.

Is Women In Black an advanced series of Men In Black?

I haven't seen Men in Black but I'm sure it's nothing to do with it.
