My order will be delayed / myLot

Two days ago I have placed an order in Flipkart . Till date I have good experience with them as they are so fast and deliver things prior on the expected date. This time the order has to be delivered on May 11, 2019, that is tomorrow. Today I got sms from them mentioning my order will be delivered on May 23. I thought they mistakenly noted the date and there is no way such a huge gap will be there for delivery. Later I received an email from them apologizing for the delay as they have some problem to deliver the product in time. I thought to cancel it and order another product but have not done it. I have ordered a pair of shoes for my son and don’t know when I will be able to get the same. Any such experience?

It was also happen with me in last month. I order for a watch. I received e-mail that supplier have some problem so your order may be late for 2 days. But I got it in time.

In that case, the item should come today. They are shipped it already then I don't know how it is getting delayed.

I rarely buy from flipkart. Was this a "Flipkart assured" product purchase. They seem quite reliable. One possibility for such a major postponement is that the item is not in stock and hence they are getting it from another seller.

Yes, I always make sure that to buy "Flipkart assured items" so that the quality will be there. The item is shipped already but not reached to me.

@Sreekala I find this happens with a smaller town I ship to for my in-laws. The couriers at the bigger city 2 hours away wait for a few items to accumulate and then send it over. This has caused a delay up to 1 week. Is this a possibility?

I did not get such a delay on online purchase. You may register with flipkart plus if you are an avid buyer there.

Not really, plus I have always seen flipkart delivering stuff on time. It's kind of sad that they couldn't deliver the thing that has been anticipated so much....
