I hope that everyone had a great Mother's Day, I know that I did. We have a long-standing tradition of having Chinese for Mother's Day. We did it for years with my mother and we always ate on her huge back porch overlooking the pond. Now we do it at either our son Jason's house or at our son Steve's house. This was Steve's year.
I had delicious orange chicken and fried wontons. It was really good orange chicken, all of my children came over and helped themselves from my plate!! lol Even with that I had plenty to bring home.
I go two gift cards, a lovely mug that says The Very Best Grandma Ever!! The roses are from my oldest grandson Danny. I was blown away. they are so beautiful and he and I had a great talk about his recent visit to St Louis for work and the art museum he visited.
Two of my great grandsons were also there so it was a perfect day. I hope that all of you are as blessed as I am.

@BelleStarr how isn't it good then? if it works for you all, and no one wants to change it, then it seems to be perfect tradition for your family.

That might be a wonderful thing to do @BelleStarr I had a coworker a couple decades ago who would hang her roses upside down and let them dry then she'd create dry bouquets out of them. I was impressed how the colors kinda remained. She'd use some kind of spray to preserve them but I haven't a clue what that was.

Thank you so much, I hope they last too, maybe I will press them to dry them to make sure I can save them.

My husband doesn't like Chinese but I had my daughter pick him up a Jersey Mike's philly steak sub so he would be happy. We are alike in that way, never happier than when we are with our family.

Yes I think I need to be at home in Connecticut for Mother's Day, other holidays I might be able to work around but not Mother's Day.

I think those of us who are mother's forget that for those who don't have their mother this can be rather a sad day, This is the first year since my mother passed so it was bittersweet.
