It is so sad to see people that have so much money and they can buy their way into anything they want like the tv stars that recently got caught trying to pay their children's way into college. Now, every time we put the tv on we see their faces. So many of us have to borrow money or take out loans for our kids or grandkids to get accepted into college. They will be paying off the loans for many years to come. Sometimes life doesn't seem fair.

No one ever said life was fair and there will always be always be the haves and have nots regardless of what social system is in place.

It's also sad too that so many legit students worked so hard to try to get into these colleges and these celebrity kids almost slipped right in with $$$. I am thinking this had been going on for years and years - not just with college admissions but with other parts of life where bribery can get a person somewhere. It's terrible, but I'm sure it still happens a lot .

I was surprised that they got caught. Now we have to wait and see what happens.

I don't get it as the families have the money and yet they are trying to cheat the system. I wonder what those kids are going to grow up to become.

I am afraid that is life. We all come in and go out of this world with nothing,. What you do in between is entirely up to you! Never envy these people they will have their own problems but not necessarily happy. Having some money helps.

I am the happiest when I remember that life was never supposed to be "fair". No, it doesn't mean I think everything turns out like it should, but it does mean I don't catch myself hating people for arbitrary reasons. But I'm also glad we have Mylot to cone ti when we just want to vent. ;-)

For 64 of my 71 yrs. of life hasn't seemed fair. so I see what you mean. Sometimes it seems like the harder you worked to have things better in later life The worse it turns out. If you love your kids too it seems harder to hang on to any money.

You've got that right @bunnybon7. When you have kids and grandkids the money doesn't last very long.

I don't think anyone gets away with anything. We all pay for our sins sooner or later.

This is just a fact of life, the rich have always gotten their kids into the best colleges, they usually just make a big donation, this was a bunch of really stupid parents, they didn't need this guy to do this. My kids went to community college for 2 years and then 2 years of state college so I was able to afford to pay it. They don't have student loan debt and neither do I.

No, it is not fair but they will pay for it in many ways including the shame their kids will suffer the rest of their lives! I am not saying what they did was right but who is to say you, me, our neighbor, whomever wouldn't do the same thing---or worse to make things better for our kids?

No, it doesn't. It's a shame people think they can take advantage of the system and not get caught.

You are right. At least being caught does show the rest of society that not everyone can get away with doing everything they want.

When I was in high school, I was placed in college prep as opposed to the vocational school. Nobody asked my family what to do: can she afford the further study or would you rather have her learn a trade in order to get a job right after graduating from high school... For example, I could have taken up cosmetology. I could say a few more things, but guess I should just keep my mouth shut. .

I went to school for cosmetology while I was still in high school I got out of school and took a public bus to the next town and spent four hours everyday so I could graduate both schools the same time. . Cosmetology was not available in our high schools. I graduated both the same time and through the years had my own beauty salon and then went on to college to become a teacher for cosmetology. After teaching for awhile I found I really didn't like it but as luck would have it, I became a hairdresser on cruise ships and traveled all over. I went to countries I never heard of and met people that were great. I had one lady on a cruise that was from Hollywood and offered me a job working with her to style hair for the stars. I refused that job as I wouldn't be able to travel the world. I eventually started dating an officer on one of the ships and married. I had that dream since I was 14 years old and totally exceeded it. I have memories I could never in a life time afford. I roamed Iceland, Russia, all the Scandinavia countries, South America, Greece, Morocco and many others. It all started with a dream to be a hairdresser.

@Spontaneo Maybe it just isn't to be. I use to love going to the hair dressing convention in New York City every year. We saw all new styles and merchandise. They we great. I use to volunteer to be the model for the day and had some very weird hairdo's along with some beautiful ones.

@ramapo17 See what my situation was? Whose fault was my college prep placement? A couple of weeks ago, I had my hair done and asked the poor stylist a million questions about getting the education and license. The closest school is about 45 minutes from here and I'd have no transportation.
