Somewhere on the Parkway...

This is another image taken somewhere on the parkway. I didn't intentionally take any pictures of the mile marker / info signs, but I did get part of one in one of my shots.
We didn't have great weather the whole time we were on the parkway and so I only got so many photos. There were also times when the views just weren't inspiring enough for a photo (I.E. when all you could see were trees).
I'll link below one of the places I wish we could have gotten out at, but unfortunately it was just pouring down rain.

I love living with in easy reach of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I was on a short section around Boone just a couple of weeks ago.

You are closer to it than I am!
This is the first time I went towards Virginia, usually it's back towards NC.

It was very beautiful from what we could see in the rain. I also saw a photo when it was not raining and it's gorgeous.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I love to visit old mills, especially those that are still working.

@ScribbledAdNauseum We have an old water mill at walking distance from home, it was built in 1560 and it is still active, I buy corn flour there.

Mabry Mill is a really cool place. They are always super busy for breakfast on the weekend. How long did it take you to get there from where you live? It had to have been a good 3 hours or more I would think. It would be roughly the same for me, as the parkway is slow speed.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I think it would have to be more. I have been through Fancy Gap before.

@snowy22315 It probably was. It was a relaxing trip for me and as you know, I wasn't driving. We had just left the Andy Griffith Museum.

You know, I'm not quite sure. Atleast an hour I'd say, probably more.. We got on at Fancy Gap. It was also raining which meant that we had to be mindful of our speed.

We didn't hike this. The Blueridge Parkway is a road that goes between North Carolina and Virginia. I know where it ends in NC (Asheville) but I'm not sure where exactly it ends in Virginia.
