The Boys Got a Cage Upgrade / myLot

The rat boys that is. I have 5 females and 4 males - and the males are quite a bit bigger than the girls. Now that the two baby boys are getting big, it was overdue. They spent a good hour sniffing and climbing around their new place. It has a wheel because it came with the cage - I’m not sure the boys will use it. Splinter has already made his feelings about the wheel known... he put a ton of bedding in it. The black cage in the picture above is the new cage, the white one below it is the girls’ cage.

I bet they are really fun to watch. Are the wheels more for rats or mice?

Wheels depend on the rat. One of my girls runs a wheel like mad. I’m pretty sure the boys don’t want one - they are currently filling it up with bedding.
