There are people that do have this problem, nervous laughter. These people should learn not to do this, its odd when doing certain jobs.
Like this evening, I took Tony to his regular doctor for refills and referrals, the referrals are a yearly thing but the check up is every six months.
Well, its the new nurse. She has nervous laughter. Not good when taking down a patients problems.
Oh and another place it would not work, no way no how, a funeral home.
Just saying......
How`s life for you?

@andriaperry It's the situation I find myself in that causes it, not necessarily talking. The very first time it happened was in grade school. I needed to talk about a board game, how to play it. I chose Monopoly, but felt ridiculous talking about it and couldn't get a word out as I started laughing and couldn't stop. I had to go out in the hall and calm down. As soon as I did, I entered the classroom, and again, I couldn't talk about it. I don't think I ever did. I couldn't stop the nervous laughter.

I would think, maybe, calm yourself and realize you don`t always have to answer.

My mom and I both kind of do that....but it is not extreme. I don't have to worry since I am a stay at home mom...but I get how it can become a problem in some jobs.

I think I am the opposite and do not laugh when I should. I understand, though. There is also a thing similar, when people are suffereing from neurological disorders called emotional lability. They will laugh or cry at the drop of a hat, and not at appropriate times.

It is a disorder that some people have, you are right, not a good place to work if you have it.

I have just learned this from you. I have no idea in fact what's nervous laughter. I find out later that is unhealthy or fake laughter. It's not a genuine one.
