1928 - Mickey Mouse appears in his first cartoon
1940 - McDonald's opens its first restaurant in San Bernardino, California
2003 - June Carter Cash passes away. She was an American singer/songwriter, guitarist, actress, dancer, comedian, author, philanthropist, humanitarian. She was born in 1929. She studied acting and appeared in movies: 1998-The Apostle, Last Days of Frank & Jesse James, and TV shows: 1957-Gunsmoke, 1993-97-Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.
In 1960 she wrote Ring of Fire which became a big hit for her husband Johnny Cash. Keep on the Sunny Side is one of her hits. She won 5 Grammys. In 2003 she was #31 on CMT's 40 Greatest Women in Country Music. In 2009 she was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame.

i have searched this in the Philippine History.
On May 15, 1893, Jose Nepomuceno, known as the Father of Philippine Movies, was born in Manila. Nepomuceno pioneered the motion picture industry in the Philippines in 1917, and has produced several hundred films throughout his lifetime.
