Update on my sweet little grandson who was rushed to hospital last night with pneumonia

Some of you know that my dear baby grandson was admitted to hospital last night with pneumonia. He developed a temperature of 41 C and was very red in the face. An ambulance arrived at my daughter's home within minutes of her call to 999. My daughter was crying in the ambulance. It was thought at first he may have meningitis. The blue light on the vehicle was flashing. They only do this for emergencies. The littlun was seen immediately and at one point there were ten medics and doctors examining the poor little mite. His heart rate was 192 BPM. An X-ray showed he has pneumonia in his left lung. He was given back to back nebulisers, steroids and antibiotics. Later that night he became more comfortable and became happier when he had his favourite teddy bear. My daughter has been at the hospital all night. I will be going up there in a while. I am aware I have notifications to answer on previous posts and will deal with them later today. Please bear with me. Photo is of the baba. He had rallied round at this point.

I am so glad the little chap is recovering. Meningitis is a big worry, of course, and pneumonia is bad, too. I'm sure that your daughter is more relieved (and tired) than words can express. He looks a real cutie (but still a little tearful) with his favourite teddy to comfort him. Thank goodness for our National Health Service and their quick response!
