Why do many people avoid old discussions?

I had noticed that many people don't answer to old discussions, even if the mylotters who posted them are still here. I wonder what is the reason. I am using other sites and people read the posts I made 10 months ago. Here it's almost impossible to receive an answer to a discussion written 1 month ago. Why people avoid old discussions?

What I am doing, I check the most recent discussions and respond to them and interact them. So there won't be any chance I get to notice the old ones. Then some members, I do visit their profile and check their old discussions. But I confess, I won't do this way to all members.

@sugartoes Really? Do you spend 12-15 hours a day online? Maybe you should have a laptop. I also have a desktop and it's hard to be locked in one place.

There is no point responding to old discussions that have become out of context.....but yes the general ones can be responded to.

I answer to old discussions, even if they are out of context. If they are interesting, why not?

Because what is often seen is new discussions first.

@dya80dya Not really, people will answer old discussions if they happen to look active.

Because you have to find them first. If they're tagged it's pretty easy, but that would mean they had to be tagged in the first place and many discussions aren't tagged. Or if you search on a specific user, that would work.

@dya80dya I've read a few, but then I searched for tagged discussions. The dynamics of mylot seem to be that people stay on the more recent discussions, I've answered some older ones but the response is usually better on the newer ones.

Because it is so time consuming and the site is not easy to navigate.

If we visit someone's profile it's easy to read old discussions.

I think because new discussions keep on flooding, so people concentrate more on new ones. I think only if we are reading a person specific discuss we read older posts...

Me too. But not many people do this.

One simple reason: they are covered by new discussions and mylottes have no time to scroll down

This can be a good reason.

I do not know why someone would avoid old discussions ... I'm not avoiding anything, when I see a discussion and if I like a picture or a title, I leave a comment
