Life Has Been Busy

I apologize for my absence. A lot has gone on since my mother passed away, least of all has been my health. Fibromyalgia symptoms have been at an all time high. Shortly after my mother's funeral my husband was told his parents have a room at the seniors residence. It's time for him to buy the house. Suddenly our mortgage has doubled and we will probably be in debt for the rest of our lives. And a wedding on the horizon to boot (our oldest daughter). However, there has been a change in my husband's attitude. I'm not sure whether he told a family member how I was reacting to moving to PEI and gave him a good talking to, or whether my mother's funeral made him realize that it's not all about him. We're going to rent the house out (starting this summer to his brother who will be spending the summer there with his family), and then his niece has shown interest to rent it with some friends. My husband got the bank to lower the price because he insisted it needs a new deck and front window. For us, after retirement, we would spend the summers down there only. We are not moving there altogether. He's also been very attentive and sweet to me lately - whether it's because he is excited about buying the house or other reasons or a combination of reasons, I don't know and don't really care. He has compromised and agrees to go for another tropical vacation in December. Feels like that frying pan finally bonked him on the head. Whatever the reason I am content, though worried about the money situation. HOWEVER, I do have my mother's inheritance money coming my way so we I (and I stress "I" because the inheritance money is mine and mine alone) will have the money for a vacation, some to put aside for the wedding, and will invest some as well. So that's just one chapter of what's been going on. Sorry I've been absent.

My condolences on the loss of your mother. I also have Fibro and it is a real kicker. I hope you are doing better now. Take care.

Thanks you. Fibro seems to be getting worse. I hate that doctor who first diagnosed me 22 years ago who said "exercise and in six months you'll be better". I exercise 5 days a week and it is KILLING me!

@patgalca I have found that stretching does more good for me vs. exercise. Too much exercise throws me into a flare. The doctor that diagnosed me retired. My new primary thinks nothing of it. It's real.

@kareng I have been suffering big time this weekend with my shoulders and neck. I don't exercise on the weekend and this started Saturday evening. Plus walking shouldn't affect that part of me. I went to bed with frozen bean bags on my neck and forehead last night. Still bothering me. I just don't know when you have to say it's time to see a doctor.

I am sorry for your loss. I hope all gets better. Did his parents still owe on their house?

Why does your husband have to buy his parents' house?

Glad your husband has been behaving better. That is good! Hope all goes well with everything. You certainly do sound busy!
