Almased Protein Mix Review

This stuff is more like “weight management drink mix” than protein powder, but does have quite a lot of protein in it. For “8 tablespoons” (one serving) it has 180 calories, 27 grams of protein, 12g sugar. Virtually no fat and added vitamins. I have a habit of experimenting around with different mixes to see which one clicks. So far Huel is my favorite. This stuff isn’t terrible - has a very lightly sweetened taste but not a great flavor. It dissolved decently in almond milk or water. Can’t say for certain if it helped me lose any weight. I did lose 3 pounds while drinking this for a couple weeks but I also exercise, eat mostly right, etc. One canister of this stuff is $30 which is a bit pricey for the amount of servings you get (think it’s like 12). I was drinking smaller amounts than the serving size though. That’s my review I guess. Have you tried this stuff? Or any new protein powders lately? Care to share?

I just eat lots of fruits and vegetables and I have maintained 130 lbs weight like forever. No powders for me!

Nice, that is awesome. Good for you! 130 is teensy in my world. Ha! I usually take protein supplements because I don't eat meat, but also as a way to replace meals if I am too busy to cook.

That's what I am aiming for, that's about my current weight (9.5 stone is 133 pounds) and I think it's about right for me, maybe slightly high.

Sorry, no, I've never tried anything like that. I'm not sure I'd be able to bring myself to drink it!

Ha! That's good. I am pretty good about forcing myself to eat or drink basically whatever. I am a compulsive "food saver", as in if I pay for something and I don't HATE it but don't love it, I'll still use it. Ha.

@maezee Oh yes I would never throw anything out! I would find some way to make it palatable. But after working in a lab I think I have an aversion to anything that resembles bacterial culture medium!

I haven't heard of this one, it sounds very interesting. I don't do protein powders very often...but I use Quest protein powder.
