I took mom for a check up today.!!

Today we went for my Mom's check up. She got numbness in her back and thighs. Doctor has told some blood tests and given a gel to apply, if that works then okay otherwise she'll be sent for MRI which she doesn't want at all because she's scared. But we are convincing her for it. Then I heard that there's an open MRI for such patients who are scared of MRI. Let's see if we get it here in India or not. (MRI is Magnetic Resonance Imaging. a method of using a strong magnetic field to produce an image of the inside of a person’s body which part is having problem/sickness.) Hoping for the best. I pray may LORD heal her. (pic- me n mommy)

Best wishes to your mother. I suffer of claustrophobia I would surely need an open MRI should I need one.

@MALUSE My husband had an MRI, I had no need to have one for the moment, but I am glad to know that they have now installed an open MRI at the local hospital.

I had to have this some time ago. I asked for a tablet to calm me before I got into the tube. It helped me. I also suffer horribly from claustrophobia.

Prayers for your mother. My husband had a similar thing happen and was put out for the MRI due to not liking them. An open MRI is not as beneficial.

I never had a MRI. Hopefully she will be ok in it. Tell her to think happy thoughts while she is in it. Or to think of something that will calm her down.

Sounds like a back issue. The MRI would tell you for sure. But so many people develop back issues as they age. I have back problems myself. When it flares up I take advil and use an ice pack to relieve pain and swelling. It will improve with rest most of the time.

@ShifaLk Yes, it did all of the medical things. X Rays, MRI and I went to a chiropractor for a time. Now I just stretch daily and try not to do anything to aggravate it. Thanks for your prayers.
