They Scared Me

Last night around 12:30 am, I thought someone was knocking on my door. I heard it several times. Usually, I never answer the door at night. I looked out the window to see if there was a vehicle in front and saw a flashlight shining in my window. I had this awful feeling in my gut, I thought that it was another life crisis. I rushed downstairs and opened the inside door because I knew that the porch door was locked. "Who's knocking on my door?" I asked. It was my neighbor watering my plants in the yard. The spray from the hose hit the side of the house and sounded like knocking. I like my neighbors, they are good people. They scared me.

I understand that it is a good think to water after the sun sets but in the middle of the night it is not a good idea.

@akalinus They should be more sensible and water a bit earlier. I usually water at 9 pm, before going to bed.

@LadyDuck I am wondering if they just got home. They often are not there. I don't know where they go and never asked.

People here seem to have a problem with time. Midnight or 7 am is all the same in some minds. I am glad they water the plants for me.

@Shivram59 It was because it was late at night and I thought someone was knocking and there was a flashlight shining in my window.

They did not mean to scare me. They kept telling me that they were sorry and I said it was alright.

@crazyhorseladycx It always scares me when someone knocks at night. It bothers me more when they just try to open the door. It has happened a few times. I see the knob moving and that is more terrifying.

Yes, they were. They planted them and they water them when it does not rain.

Why would they water your plants at midnight? That would scare me too.

It was mostly the knocking and the flashlight that was scary.

@amitkokiladitya I never do that. When there is an emergency, I am in charge. I fall apart later.

When I saw the flashlight, I thought it was the police wanting to tell me something terrible.

I have never had that happen before. There have been drunks trying to get in because they think it is their place and once someone dismantled my lock when I was not home. It was all hanging on a spring and I could not get my door open. I had to cut a hole in the screen. I did have a cop shining a light through my place once, but he was looking for someone else.

She was watering the plants and the husband was holding a flashlight. It just happened to beam into my window when I looked out to see if there was a vehicle. I thought someone was knocking and I wanted to see if someone came in a vehicle.
