Well knock on wood, pun intended.. the fake hornets nest to keep the carpenter bees away seems to be working. Admittently, I haven't been outside much today, but I hung it from the porch where they have their hang out. I haven't seen any..so that is a good sign. Of course it could all change..but as for now..I am happy.

I just made mine out of plastic bags. You get several and bunch them together, and hang them where you have a problem.

@LadyDuck The plastic bag method works too for no money. It is the scarecrow method I guess.

@snowy22315 I bought them, I think from Amazon. They are inexpensive and really look like the real thing. I will buy more.

I can't take credit for it, I saw it on Facebook. If it keeps the bees away, I will be happy.

I thought it was. After I wrote this I saw one on the other side of the porch..maybe I will have to hang one there too.

We have all sorts of things like that..but I want them to find somewhere else to hang out. It is not pleasant to go outside and have to worry about one either stinging or getting in the house. Plus I do not want the carpenter variety eating my wood.

@Nevena83 It's uncomfortable but not horrible. The carpenter bees though have major stingers that was pretty bad the time I got stung by one.

@snowy22315 Many times, the bee hurts me, but it's nothing terrible.
