Why Not ASK?

One day I was reading a newspaper under the shady tree near our house and our youngest son is playing not far from me. I noticed he stopped playing. I saw him struggling to get something out of the big stone. He seemed exhausted and came to me. "Father, why can't move that stone which my toy car had accidentally slipped into its hole underneath," asked my son. I simply asked him back, "Did you ask me on what to do or for my help?" That particular life experience I have had taught me to be optimistic as I liken the scripture to our way of living. I am referring to the book of Matthew, 8th verse of 7th chapter. It says, "For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." This is my guiding principle in life especially in times of distress. For I know God is just a prayer away. Do you have a sriptural verse that serves as inspiration in time of trouble?

We have a saying, "Nasa diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa." God may be merciful but people must first help themselves.

You're right. Then when we have done everything, it's time ask Heavenly Father for the help or whatever comes first.

Nice verse to hold. Usually, I am holding verses from the book of Ecclesiastics. From all the verses from the Bible the verses there are quite truer.

@simplfred I know for the Bible itself contains the words of God. I keep on reading it even cover to cover.
